Indian Shores is located just south of Indian Rocks Beach and originally was called Indian Rocks Beach, South Shore until it was changed in 1973. Indian Shores is approximately 3/10ths sq mile sliver of prime waterfront land, part of which is known as “The Narrows” which is less than a block wide with homes and condos on the Gulf side and only the intercoastal waterway on the other. Indian shores has a population of just over 1700 mostly living in waterfront condominiums. They recently finished an extensive project to make their 2 lane roads bike and pedestrian friendly.
This small beach town boasts a nature park with lovely wood boardwalk, library with internet, playground, tennis courts and a new Community Resource building completed in 2011. Indian Shores also has it’s own police force with a marine and beach patrol unit. They also have great waterfront restaurants that you can walk, drive or pull your boat up to for a great dining experience.
